Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of
Rules:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week's teaser is from A Man Came Out of a Door in the Mountain - a Novel by Adrianne Harun. It was published February 25, 2014 by Penguin Books.
My teaser sentences come from early on in the book.
"But Uncle Lud's not here, and he's left me and a few scattered notebooks to set the shards of the story side by side and conjure demons once again. Even as I do, I want to call out to all of us. I want to yell: Look sharp!"
Locations 67-68 on my Kindle
Reviews say it's neither a straight forward thriller or straight forward magical realism. But, from the Goodreads.com description, "In this intoxicatingly lush debut novel, Adrianne Harun weaves together folklore, mythology, and elements of magical realism to create a compelling and unsettling portrait of life in a dead-end town."
From reviews, it's more than that. And it looks totally interesting. I can't wait to get even deeper into the book.
What's your teaser this week?
That is one good teaser! Happy reading!!
