Can't Wait Wednesday/Waiting on Wednesday #387: The Untold Story by Genevieve Cogman

Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event that had been hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine where we spotlighted upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating. I'm now linking up with "Can't-Wait Wednesday" hosted over at Wishful Endings.

From the publisher:

“Clever, creepy, elaborate world building and snarky, sexy-smart characters!”—N. K. Jemisin, author of The Fifth Season

In this thrilling historical fantasy, time-traveling Librarian spy Irene will need to delve deep into a tangled web of loyalty and power to keep her friends safe.

Irene is trying to learn the truth about Alberich-and the possibility that he's her father. But when the Library orders her to kill him, and then Alberich himself offers to sign a truce, she has to discover why he originally betrayed the Library.

With her allies endangered and her strongest loyalties under threat, she'll have to trace his past across multiple worlds and into the depths of mythology and folklore, to find the truth at the heart of the Library, and why the Library was first created.

The Untold Story by Genevieve Cogman is expected out December 28th, 2021 from Ace. It will be the 8th book in The Invisible Library series.

Why am I waiting on this book? I'm not familiar with this series, but this book sounds good. I love stories involving libraries and librarians. And that it says she will have to delve into mythology and folklore makes it even more attractive. I've got to check out this series and this book.

What book are you waiting on this week? Share it or a link in the comments so we can check it out and maybe add it to our TBR lists. Thanks for coming by and Happy Reading!

  1. I love this cover so much and the synopsis seems so interesting. Haven't heard of this series before but haven't read a good fantasy novel in a while (it takes me forever to get past the world-building). I love how it's about librarians too, great pick!

    1. It sounds like a lot, but I think the author can pull it off. Your nonfiction choice for this week sounds very timely. Hope you like it!
