Why am I waiting on this one? I've got a fondness for Southern Gothic tales. This sounds like a good one. Plus it got good reviews of the ARCs on Goodreads.

My sheets had never been so clean as they'd been the last few months. I hardly got them on again before something else happened and I was feverishly ripping them off and stuffing them in the wash with double amounts of soap and all the "extra" buttons pushed: extra wash, extra rinse, extra water, extra spin, extra protection against things that go bump in the night. Unfortunately, I never could find that last button. (p. 327)

Why am I waiting on this one? I've had this series on my TBR list for a while. I like the way this one sounds. The remote island setting and multiple suspects seem intriguing. I might start with this one and then go back and read the series from the beginning, it sounds so good.

The final installment of gifts from Ms. Romanoff, the prized float in that parade of enchantment, was the box that held Wilbur, Paisley, Caplis - and Waldo. While these guys didn't fit in with the mystical theme, that was okay. Waldo was unequivocally adorable, and I knew even then that astrology might come and go, but a stuffed walrus would always stay true. (7% through on my Kindle)
