This week I'm waiting on Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo. It's the third book in the Alex Stern/Ninth House trilogy.

Why am I waiting on this book? I've read the first two books in the trilogy. I'd like to find out what happens to these college kids. I would love to see them come out of it relatively unscathed. But, being Dark Academia, Urban Fantasy, and Contemporary Dark Fantasy, it's hard to predict just what will happen.

Why am I waiting on this book? I like the way Leigh Bardugo writes. I haven't read any of the books in the Grishaverse yet, but I've read Ninth House and Hell Bent and enjoyed them both. I like the idea of Luzia using her gift to make her life better. And how she uses it seems to morph from the description. And it is a dangerous time both to be Jewish and to have magic. I want to know what happens to her. I am rooting for her already.

Why am I waiting on this book?  I read the first book in the series, Ninth House, and enjoyed it. I want to know what happens next for Alex Stern. I want to know if she will be able to rescue Darlington. And I enjoy the university setting.

This week the book I am waiting on is The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo. And I won't have to wait too long. It's due to be released September 26, 2017 from Macmillan.

Why am I waiting on this one? I love stories that draw on myth, folklore, and fairy tale. Even though I am unfamiliar with the Grishaverse, I still think I will enjoy this book because of the subject matter. And then there is the appearance of the book. The art that is to be within the pages sounds awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product. And I think the cover is lovely.
